How do teachers justify punishing a student for fighting back against their bullies?

then why do you keep asking him if he is if you’re uninterested I could care less with somebody sexual preferences I don’t care if you’re in love with your vacuum cleaner. if I am a heterosexual and attracted to men, Why would I If another female was homosexual and liked females? I’ve ever been interested in knowing is because I was attracted to them. In fact, I am relieved There is just one less beautiful Woman that I have to compete with for a man’s interest.

There is 10 days and one trimester left before the end of the year and these kids are supposed to go to high school not necessarily to our school. They’re not gonna get in anywhere because At the very least, they need to pass two to graduate. The following morning, I gave them the fabulous news that I was assigned to the class until they could find a licensed teacher that would be willing to take over. I told him I did not have to do this teaching grade at the same time and I’m not required to report cards or enter grades. You might wanna know that none of you are going to be going to high school because you have had no grades this entire year and I can’t believe that your parents aren’t aware of this guys have parent teacher conferences? You need to pass a certain amount of standards to graduate so you have 18 days to get enough evidence in history, language arts, science and math to To fulfill one complete trimester, and then you would absolutely have to pass your last trimester in order to graduate from eighth grade that does not matter whether you were going to the school or to another school. You will not have a transcript that shows that you have done requirements.. I also told them that I promised I would be the last person standing and that they were not going to scare me off run me out of the classroom. did not report to my classroom for homeroom they will not be allowed in for the rest of the day nor will they be given any of the work to make up that they have missed they will have a zero I will not be putting together any extra work or sending anything down to another classroom for you to do? . Do not care what do you like me or not. I have passed eighth grade and whether you do or not is on you. I’m not gonna put up with that BS that you’ve been pulling all year. If you can’t follow instructions in the rules you’re gone. One student I had not taught in the past, Decided to show out I think I was not their teacher just a white bitch. I told him To leave and he wouldn’t Asking me what I could do about it. I went to the phone. I called told her I needed Look up the students and then three schools that have openings in his neighborhood and fill out the transfer paperwork. Requested that the principal called the mother have her come down, sign the paperwork and take him out of school today. She did. He threatened to kick my ass and I told him go ahead. I’ve been punched by a man 6 ft tall and 185 lbs and I got back up. I can take a hit. ( I was telling the truth I had at that point I had been a victim of domestic abuse for over 12 years. Which was the reason that I never backed down and I never showed fear and I honestly could take a punch). He was removed from my classroom and removed from the school. It took a week to have almost the entire class on board participating engaged in your lessons and completing work.

Can bosses get fired for being too hard on employees?

an eighth grade classroom there was a student. I’m just gonna call him Dave who kept making comments about another student Paul whispering things like gay boy dick sucker etc. Paul was a very quiet student and Very nice boy who was intimidated By his tormentor and his group of friends. I Ended up teaching this class for a little over a quarter because they had lost a total of four different teachers between the two eigth classrooms that year Because of the behaviors of the students. I was actually a third grade teacher, but had a student that year. Could not get anybody to teach the class or a substitute to stay a whole day. There was a new student who was transferred from another school because he hit his female teacher, and then threw a chair through a window to escape. I have had the majority of this eighth grade class when they were in third and fourth grade. My first encounter with the new student, Jose was watching him stick his middle finger 2 inches from the face of his teacher who was terrified. I walked up to him, grabbed his finger and said such a obscene gesture from such a pristine boy ( Breakfast Club line). And then I told him if you’re gonna play the “crazy card” I’d be absolutely sure you have a card that trumps mine.” And then I laughed. He was so taken back by my lack of fear that he actually just got back in line. I find that many students act out because they afraid they’re insecure they don’t have anybody who they believe is in charge. I also think they are hurt by how many adults are afraid of them. The line line and the students were totally out of control acting like fools. I told the Substitute I would take them over lunch hour. And then I told the lunch ladies not to serve them. We had to provide them with a lunch, but it does not say them when they get on the bus to go home. I have him in the hall and I thought I was kidding hundred percent. They stood there till there was only I think maybe 12 minutes left of the lunch hour . I told him they were going to go back to class. Provide them with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which they will receive at the end of the day. Lunch staff workday is over in five minutes they break down the lunchroom and go home. Not a word. They had approximately five minutes to eat. Which point I walked them back to the class after lunch and left them with the Substitute. I guess quit at the end of the day and would not be returning. The following was a new sub that lasted approximately 45 minutes. Principal asked me if I would be willing to please classroom for the day because they had to take the class. Who is going to be teach my class and she told me my student teacher. Plans in fact, the computer wasn’t even plugged in. Class that day and many students walked out and found high school class to sit in They did not like me and they didn’t have to listen to me. The teachers whose classrooms were next to our across the hall from this eighth grade class went to the principal said it was the first time in two months that they were able to teach withou the constant chaos from that room. I was asked to teach the class until they could find a permanent eighth grade teacher. I would have to do two lesson plans one for my third grade class and another for the eighth grade. I had a strong student who is at the end of his term and would be teaching full-time anyway, but somebody had to be in there to observe. I agreed on one condition That the administration would back me 100%. If I sent somebody with 72 for suspension, they were to suspend them. Do not send them back to me. Work is not in the classroom physically. And that became the most interesting because there was a girl whose mother was a bigwig in the Central Services at the District. I was in who actually called me because her daughter refused to come to class for over a week and she had wanted me to put work together for to do every day. Actually came to me and asked me to do this and I told her no. I told her I would talk to the parent, and I told her education and learning takes place in my classroom. Either your daughter is present to my classroom or she’s failing. I don’t have time to chase her down. I certainly will not putting together any work for her high school classroom she has high school. She’s an eighth grader and if she doesn’t get back into eighth grade family soon she will be in eighth grade next year as well.

My students new sense of humor and that my lessons were always interactive, loud, and social. They were the first ones to fall in line because they also knew that I was dead serious. I would not enter a single grade. Kept messing with another child was spraying things about him being gay, sucking, dick, etc.. In the middle of my lesson, I shut the book and said OK let’s put everything on the table. The boy that had been bullied for the three days that I was there nonstop and said, do you like him? ( Referring to the bully) He responded. No, I am not.

He said I’m telling my parents that you’re calling me gay. I did not call you gay. You were the one that was calling your fellow classmate gay Whispering about him for three days straight. He was too nice to say anything that would hurt your feelings. Talking to your parents about the situation and why it had to be addressed. I think everybody here can understand why There was a valid reason why someone might misconstrue your intentions. What I can’t figure out is why or what he did to make such a erroneous assumption?

When did you realize that your childhood was not normal?

My students have been taught that if somebody hits you, you hit them back. I tried to teach the students that you need to defend yourself absolutely. However, if the physical assault was from a much younger student, a female ( I will come back to this one) or a peer that you havw several inches on and outweigh by 20 pounds or more AND you are not hurt There’s no need to retaliate Physical force. Kindergarten through 12th grade school. I cannot tell you how many times you’re been an issue with a upper elementary student punching a first grader or kindergarten because they hit them. You could easily put them in a hold, Walk away and report the incident To your teacher and / or their teacher. I have incidences where a high school student has come to my third-grade classroom thinking they were going to beat up the student that got in a fight with their sibling. There is a difference between bullying and a fight.Two Students who get in a fight and are both throwing punches Then both the students should be suspended. if a student is picking on another student regularly and verbally attacking, isolating the student via cruel comments, or because race, gender, economic status or sexual orientation I handled things very differently. There was a student in my class. I had all of his brothers and he continually picked down one boy in the class. The one being bullied had walked away, refused to be baited and did not respond in kind. Despite all efforts, the bully continued so one day after recess I asked the victim if he wanted to fight him. He said yes He did not want to get suspended . told him we were going to the yard.. We had a large carpet and the students stood around the edges and I had the bully and his victim stand inside. I trust the bully and said you have been fronting for the entire year so if you’re going to fight him then fight him. You have to take the first swing. No one will jump in to help you. No one will go to their older siblings and no will be reported. First person to say Uncle ends the fight. I use this technique on numerous occasions. This was the only time I fight actually took place. over in five minutes, the bully underneath a chair calling “Uncle” It was The end of this conflict. I pulled the bully aside and talked to him in the hallway privately . . I know your brothers. I had them all and I’m sure that you’ve had a lot of bullying at home being the youngest. You are not like your brothers. You are not a fighter. You are not a thug. You are very bright and pick your own path and future. What are his brother ended up in jail shortly after high school and both were expelled before they graduated. He did not follow in their footsteps. Other time I had a third grade boy who was picking on a first grade girl. I called him to the yard, and then he brought in the first graders older sister who was in fifth grade to stand in for her younger sister. I’ve had the older sister and I told her you’re not gonna have to throw a punch, but just stand there. They’re all scared of you and this will sell your problem and it will keep you from being suspended. I told the boy it was only fair. She was two years older than him, and he was two years older than Student. He was picking so either he apologized to the older sister and the first grader and never have another issue with them again or I was gonna let the elder sibling fight him. He apologized.

I got on the phone called the nurse and told her I was an eighth grade student who had some questions about sex and his body. She was a gorgeous 23 year old recent college graduate. I called for the safety who escorted him down to her office so that they could have a discussion and she could ask any questions that he wanted privately. She came to me and she was dying laughing. She was very professional And asked him what he wanted to know what he did.. She said he was dying of embarrassment but laughing. I ended up really loving this class. They worked incredibly hard and were able to make up the credits in those two weeks satisfying all of the requirements by That was Cross curricular. Juan? Graduated salutatorian and in his speech he thanked me on behalf of his classmates and himself for not giving up on them and presented me With a dozen roses. that will always be special to me., The entire last year only had about 70 students and over 20 of them have been murdered incarcerated five years of high school graduation

Have you had any paranormal activity situations happen personally to you or someone you know?

I do not punish students for fighting. Administration is the only one that can suspend students. I had some very unusual solutions to bullies and I’m quite sure that they will not sit well with many. However, unless you are an educator in a violent, inner city public school in which 90% of the student population ‘s economic level is below poverty and from a trauma background; I suggest you refrain from sharing your outrage with me.

I suggested he apologize for misunderstanding signals, And told him I would recommend very strongly that it doesn’t happen again because you are bordering on sexual harassment. He apologized and no one said a word about anyone’s sexuality again. i’ll do the same thing when one female was bullying another female for the same reasons. I was very straightforward, Honest to a fault, I was not offended by their language, comments or choice of topics Which are meant to get an adult upset. I was not disrespectful or demeaning to the students but I called them out on their choices, behaviors or comments. I have a sharp tongue and a quick wit Students couldn’t get the better of me and the ones that were the classes and used to the students clowning we’re getting crucified. I had one student during detention that was pretending to fuck my file cabinet in the corner so that all the students would be laughing and attention on him when it was supposed to be quiet I was at my desk grading papers, and I just looked up and I said “ I don’t really care what your sexual proclivities are but That’s my file cabinet would you mind getting your own?”
